As President and CEO of Peacock Law, Deborah Peacock specializes in IP law and transactions related to business and technology. Her expertise is in complex transactions, commercialization of leading-edge and disruptive technologies, and global branding. Her practice areas include chemical and mineral processing, mining, metallurgy, semiconductor, environmental, water treatment, oil and gas, energy, utilities, alternative energy, lasers, optics, acoustic, aerospace, outer space, food and beverage, consumer products, social media, blockchain/cryptocurrency, cybersecurity, 3-D printing, and State and Federal regulations regarding the environment, food, labeling, and export laws. Deborah is a member of the Aerospace and Outer Space Practice Group, Dental Practice Group and Trademark Practice Group. She earned a J.D. from Harvard Law School, and a Bachelor’s degree with highest honors in Metallurgical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. She is licensed to practice law in New Mexico, New York, and Colorado, and is a Registered Patent Attorney. She is also a registered Professional Engineer in New Mexico and Colorado.
Janeen Vilven-Doggett, Ph.D., is a partner of Peacock Law P.C. specializing in patent prosecution in biotechnology, computer science, chemical and pharmaceutical sciences, genetics, medical devices, nanotechnology, and optics, and a member of the litigation team. She is a member of the firm’s Dental Practice Group and also handles patent, trademark and intellectual property, FDA counseling regarding medical devices, pharmaceutical applications, and product labeling requirements. She earned a J.D. cum laude from the University of New Mexico, a bachelor’s degree in biology from Baylor University, and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. She is licensed to practice in New Mexico, the United States District Court of the District of New Mexico, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and is a Registered Patent Attorney.
Justin is a partner of Peacock Law P.C. and Registered Patent Attorney practicing all aspects of intellectual property, including patent, trademark and copyright prosecution, licensing and litigation. He is a member of the firm’s Aerospace and Outer Space Practice Group, Dental Practice Group and Trademark Practice Group, and also practices regularly in the fields of electronics, mechanics, and consumer products. Committed to encouraging the growth of Albuquerque’s growing tech and creative arts communities, Justin speaks regularly on intellectual property to inventors, entrepreneurs, artists, musicians, dancers, authors and engineers.
Philip D. Askenazy, Ph.D.

Philip Askenazy, Ph.D., is a Registered Patent Agent specializing in patent prosecution and analysis in the areas of materials, optics, semiconductors, chemical engineering, aerospace, outer space and electro-mechanical devices. He also assists with intellectual property licensing, technology commercialization, and business planning. He is a member of the firm’s Aerospace and Outer Space Practice Group. Philip earned a bachelor’s degree (cum laude) in physics from Harvard University, and both a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in applied physics from the California Institute of Technology.
Justin Jackson is a Registered Patent Attorney, practicing in the areas of intellectual property (patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets) with the firm of Peacock Law P.C. since 2003. Prior to practicing as a patent attorney, Justin worked in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering department at Oklahoma State University and is a member of the firm’s Aerospace and Outer Space Practice Group. He grew up in the country and spent his childhood welding, bolting, and hot-gluing various inventions together in the shop. Because of that upbringing and his continual tinkering, he is more familiar than most attorneys with the tools, fasteners, and lingo that inventors typically use in building and describing their inventions. Justin received his Juris Doctorate from the University of New Mexico School of Law and his B.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology from Oklahoma State University. He has testified as an expert witness for intellectual property matters in court proceedings.
Marco is a Registered Patent Attorney practicing patent prosecution in biotechnology, chemical and pharmaceutical sciences, medical devices, scientific diagnostics and the mechanical arts. Marco is a member of the firm’s Dental Practice Group and a current law student at University of New Mexico School of Law. While in law school, Marco externed for the U.S. Navy and assisted with the prosecution of mechanical patents. He also externed for Judge Jimmie V. Reyna in the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Troy is an Attorney practicing in the area of corporate transactions and agreements, trademark and copyright registration and enforcement, and environmental regulation compliance specific to air, water, waste, and in the field of oil and gas. In law school at the University of New Mexico, Troy was the President of the Business Law Society and regularly competed in the American Bar Associations’ Tax Challenge.
Daniel is a Registered Patent Attorney practicing all aspects of intellectual property and litigation. Daniel joined Peacock Law P.C. during his studies at the UNM School of Law. Before embarking on his legal career, Daniel researched dark matter during his undergraduate, helped build cube-satellites through an AFRL program, tutored math and physics, and even became a certified diamontologist. During law school, Daniel participated in the inaugural UNM team for the National Patent Application Drafting Competition and is a Manuscript Editor and Author for the New Mexico Law Review.
Laura Ingersol, Ph.D.

Laura Ingersol, Ph.D., is a Registered Patent Attorney practicing all aspects of intellectual property. Laura joined Peacock Law P.C. in the Spring of 2022 while finishing law school. Prior to law school, Laura attended the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, where she obtained undergraduate degrees in Biology and Chemistry, receiving the Berthron Fellowship in Biology and an Award for Excellence in Biochemistry.
Stephen Slusher is experienced in both litigation and transactional IP matters in copyright, trademark, and patents. He earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from St. John’s College in Santa Fe, and a J.D. cum laude from the University of New Mexico. He is licensed to practice in New Mexico, the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He is also a Registered Patent Attorney.
A seasoned attorney, Steve M. McLary has served Of Counsel for Peacock Law, P.C. since 2005. He rewrote and updated the license format for company technology for Peacock Law P.C., and has provided counsel and advice in licensing, leasing, and joint venture strategy. Steve earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University, and a J.D. from the University of Toledo. Steve is a member of the Indiana and Ohio bars, and is a Registered Patent Attorney.
